Terms & Conditions of Sale
About GBS
These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through the Genetic Biosystems website. Throughout these Terms, “GBS”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Genetic Biosystems. GBS should be identified publicly using only the minimum trader/contact information legally required. Public-facing pages should use GBS branding and the business email rather than unnecessary personal details. Before live trading begins, GBS must insert any legally required trader identity and geographical contact information. A dedicated business/service address should be used wherever lawful.
Research-use basis of supply
GBS products are supplied exclusively for legitimate laboratory, analytical and scientific research. They are not supplied for human consumption, self-administration, therapeutic use, diagnostic use or other personal use. Scientific references, compound descriptions, receptor/pathway information and published research are provided for scientific context only and are not medical advice, dosing guidance, administration instructions, treatment recommendations or promises of personal outcomes. The research-use restriction does not remove statutory consumer rights where those rights apply.
Who may order
Orders may be placed by businesses, organisations, institutions and individuals purchasing for a legitimate research purpose. Company/organisation information may be optional. GBS may require a research-purpose declaration at checkout. Subject to applicable law, GBS may review, refuse or cancel an order where there are reasonable grounds to believe information is false or misleading, the products are not being purchased for a legitimate research purpose, supply may breach applicable law, or fraud/suspicious activity is present.
Product information
GBS takes reasonable care to ensure that product names, strengths, descriptions and images are accurate. Images are illustrative and minor presentation differences may occur where they do not materially alter the product supplied. Testing and analytical statements apply only to the relevant samples, batches, methods and results identified in the applicable documentation.
Orders and contract formation
Submitting an order is an offer to purchase. An automated order-received email confirms receipt but does not necessarily mean GBS has accepted the order. The contract is formed when GBS accepts the order, for example by confirming acceptance or dispatching the goods, unless the checkout or confirmation states otherwise. GBS may decline an order before acceptance for lawful reasons including stock unavailability, payment failure, obvious pricing/description error or legal/compliance concerns. Any amount due back will be refunded.
Prices, payment and promotions
Prices are shown in pounds sterling unless stated otherwise. The total price, applicable taxes and delivery charges will be shown before the order is submitted. Payment is processed through the methods available at checkout. Promotional codes are subject to their stated terms and, unless GBS permits otherwise, cannot be combined. The newsletter first-order offer is intended as a single-use 10% discount on an eligible first qualifying order and may be subject to reasonable anti-abuse controls, exclusions, minimum spend or expiry terms disclosed with the offer.
Stock, back orders and stock alerts
GBS may enable back ordering on selected products where replenishment is expected. A Notify When In Stock request is a service request for an availability notification and does not automatically enrol the requester into general marketing. Marketing communications will be handled separately and only where a lawful basis exists.
Delivery
GBS currently supplies to United Kingdom delivery addresses only unless the website expressly states otherwise. The current working standard tracked UK delivery charge is £8.99, with free tracked delivery on qualifying orders of £199 or more. Charges and thresholds may change and the amount shown at checkout will apply. Delivery timeframes are estimates unless a guaranteed date is expressly agreed.
Lost, delayed and damaged parcels
If tracking does not confirm delivery within the expected timeframe, contact GBS promptly at info@geneticbiosystems.com so the shipment can be investigated. If tracking records delivery but the parcel is not received, GBS may review carrier tracking and proof-of-delivery evidence. For transit damage, please notify GBS within 24 hours of receipt wherever reasonably possible and provide the order number plus reasonable photographic evidence. The 24-hour request supports prompt investigation and does not exclude or restrict statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Consumer cancellation rights
If you are a consumer buying online, you will generally have a legal right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days after receiving the goods, subject to statutory exceptions. To cancel, make a clear statement to GBS within the applicable period. After cancellation, goods must be returned within the period required by law. Refunds, return costs, standard delivery-charge reimbursement and any lawful deduction for diminished value will be handled in accordance with applicable law.
Faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods
If goods are faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise fail to meet applicable statutory requirements, contact GBS at info@geneticbiosystems.com. Nothing in these Terms limits remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Returns process
Before returning goods, contact info@geneticbiosystems.com quoting the order number and reason for return. GBS will provide return instructions where appropriate. Please package returns securely and retain proof of posting. Do not send returns to an address that has not been confirmed for returns.
Verification platform and analytical documentation
The GBS Verification Platform checks product codes, batch information and associated records held in the GBS system. A successful code verification confirms that the code and associated information correspond with a GBS system record. It is not an independent analytical test of the physical contents and does not establish safety, efficacy or suitability for human use. A previously verified or unrecognised code does not, by itself, establish that the physical product is counterfeit. Certificates of Analysis relate only to the identified samples, batches, methods and results.
Accounts and security
Guest checkout may be available. Account holders are responsible for keeping login credentials confidential. Creating an account does not amount to consent to receive marketing; marketing preferences are managed separately.
Intellectual property
GBS branding, text, graphics, software, website content and other materials are protected by intellectual-property rights owned by or licensed to the relevant rights holder. No ownership rights are transferred by purchase.
Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. GBS does not accept responsibility for use of products contrary to the research-only basis on which they are supplied, except to the extent liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
Events outside reasonable control
GBS is not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside its reasonable control, subject to rights and remedies that remain applicable under law.
Privacy
Personal data is handled in accordance with the GBS Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.
Contact and complaints
Questions or complaints should be sent to info@geneticbiosystems.com. Where a postal/geographical contact address is legally required, it will be provided using the dedicated GBS business/service address once finalised.
Changes
GBS may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force when an order is placed will normally apply to that order, subject to any change required by law.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers may also benefit from mandatory protections and jurisdiction rights that apply where they live.
